“Vesko Eschkenazy is a brilliant violinist” – remarks one of the largest dailies in the Kingdom of Netherlands, De Telegraaf in November 2000, after his interpretation of Karol Szymanovski’s First Violin Concerto with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam. Eschkenazy has been the Orchestra’s concertmaster since the 1999/2000 concert season.
Born in Bulgaria in 1970 into a family of musicians, he is a graduate of the Lubomir Pipkov National Music School and of the Prof. Pancho Vladiguerov National Academy of Music where he studied violin with Angelina Atanassova and Prof. Petar Hristoskov. In 1990, Vesko Panteleev–Eschkenazy left Bulgaria for London and completed a two year Masters Degree for solo performers with Prof. Ifra Neaman at the Guildhall School of Music.
Vesko Panteleev-Eschkenazy has appeared as soloist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the English Chamber Orchestra, among others. Since 2005, Vesko Panteleev – Eschkenazy has appeared regularly in Bulgaria with the Classic FM Radio Orchestra. He received the 2010 “Musician of the Year” award.
Vesko Panteleev–Eschkenazy is also a beloved chamber musician. In 1995 he joined pianist Ludmil Angelov with the aim of performing sonata duos. The two musicians have played numerous concerts in multiple European cities, and have released several CDs. The 2015-2016 concert season marked the duo’s 20th anniversary, on which occasion they released their “Tango” album. This album was awarded “Project of the Year” by the Bulgarian National Radio. The Eschkenazy-Angelov duo performed to wide acclaim during the 2016 European Music Festival in Sofia, followed by a number of concerts around Bulgaria.
Since 2000, Vesko Panteleev–Eschkenazy has been playing on a Guarneri del Gesu violin from 1738, property of an anonymous sponsor.

Born in Varna, Ludmil Angelov is an alumnus of the National Academy of Music in Sofia. He is a student of Viktoria Spasova, Ludmila Stoyanova and the phenomenal pianist and pedagogue Konstantin Stankovich.
Popular all over the world, Ludmil Angelov has given recitals and chamber music concerts, and has played as soloist with many prestigious orchestras under the baton of world-famous conductors. He has performed at major concert halls, such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Musikverein in Vienna, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Pleyel and Gaveau in Paris, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Lincoln Centre in New York, the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, the Herkulessaal in Munich, BOZAR in Brussels, KKL in Lucerne, the Zürich Opera, the Salle Garnier in Monte Carlo, Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, the concert hall of the Moscow Conservatorie, the National Philharmonic Hall, the Polish National Opera in Warsaw, and KBS Hall in Seoul, among many others.
Ludmil Angelov is the winner of the Apollo Toxophorus Award, and is Corresponding Member of the Royal Academy of Arts in Toledo. In November 2011, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Poland awarded him the Gloria Artis Medal. In 2015, Mr. Angelov received a lifetime achievement Grand Award of the city of Varna. Since the 2011-2012 concert season, Ludmil Angelov has served as honorary professor at NBU.
