Iraq - UN personnel move into hotels

More United Nations personnel in Baghdad have moved from their houses to hotels, as directed by the Iraqi authorities, as the anticipation of a possible military strike on Iraq by the United States intensified on Saturday (31/01). The latest UN staff to move, members of the World Food Programme, arrived on Saturday at Baghdad's Karma and Sumerland hotels. Meanwhile UNSCOM inspectors set off on routine inspections in
search of illegal weapons sites.
