Описание: Nagorno-Karabakh, a heavily forested and mountainous region, is recognized under international law as part of Azerbaijan. Despite this, the majority of its population is made up of ethnic Armenians who do not accept Azerbaijani rule and legal system.

After a war in the 1990s, Azerbaijan's troops were ousted from the area, and ethnic Armenians have since maintained administrative control over Nagorno-Karabakh with the support of Armenia.
