The trans fat ban in Canada has recently come into effect and has many Canadians wondering why the government has decided to take such a leap, and how it will benefit the population. This video aims to inform Canadians on the nature of the ban, such as foods that will be affected, and its significance in preventing heart disease. We will be justifying the ban by exploring its health benefits, and explaining the science behind trans-fat to allow the public to better understand its effects on the human body.
This video was made by McMaster Demystifying Medicine students Victoria Bednarek, Mahrukh Aziz, Ashley Dhaliwal and Prabhnoor Bohns.
