Waratah and Ecological Horizons director Dr John Read worked together to build an Australian Made 14km exclusion fence to keep feral cats, foxes, rabbits, goats and kangaroos out of the Mallee refuge. The Longlife Blue wire 3cm netting, Jio steel posts & umbrella floppy top post extensions were used to keep climbing & digging animals from the endangered malleefowl, bandicoots, numbats, bettongs, birds & dunnarts. Native plants and grasses that were being overgrazed across the 900ha site are also returning to their former state.
