South Korea and the United States have opened a high-level military meeting at the Pentagon with North Korea and pending alliance issues topping the agenda.
On the first day of the two-day Integrated Defense Dialogue Tuesday, South Korea and the U.S. discussed Seoul's request to further delay the transfer of operational control of troops in the event of war.
The two sides reportedly agreed in principle to delay the transfer due to the ongoing threat posed by North Korea... but the timing and extra details are still being ironed out.
The allies plan to hold a two-day Defense Trilateral Talks with Japan starting Thursday.
