The Representatives vote for their leader of the Texas House who is called the Speaker of the House.

They help make and vote on laws
House members serve on committees such as
agriculture and livestock
business and industry
elections
higher education
energy resources and more
They decide where the money goes within the state government
Bills for raising money must originate in the House
Only the House can impeach a statewide officer
The House is one of two chambers that make up the Texas State Legislature. The Texas State House has 150 members, one from each of Texas’s 150 districts.
