This week I’m testing whether adding cycling and rowing to my exercise plan can improve my 5K time at parkrun 🏃♂️ As a 55-year-old beginner runner, I’m on a journey to go from a 35-minute 5K towards sub 30, and this month I’m adding cross training cardio to my training to see if it actually makes me faster. Can cycling and rowing help improve speed? Or is it just extra miles with no payoff? In this vlog, I - Build up to longer runs beyond 5K - Focus on consistency and endurance - Test my pace to see if there’s real improvement - Share the reality of being a slower runner trying to get better. If you’re into parkrun, 5K training, beginner running, or improving your PB, this is all about finding what works in the real world… not elite plans, just honest progress. Because maybe getting faster isn’t about running harder… maybe it’s about running smarter (and a little rowing)
