Описание: we’re reviewing the SodaStream Terra – is it really worth the price? We saw it on Amazon for £119 down to £60 (although it’s £70 everywhere else). Let’s find out if it’s a bargain or a bust!

Unboxing & Setup

✔️ We’ve been using it all weekend, so we’ll share our experience!
✔️ It’s already out of the box, and we’ll show you how to install the gas cartridge.
✔️ The CO2 canister: Just pop it in the back—no screwing required. Different models have different cartridge types, so make sure you get the right one!
✔️ SodaStream bottles: You get one high-pressure bottle with the machine, but additional bottles cost £34 for four! 😲

Making Soda – How Easy Is It?

✔️ First tip: Use chilled water – tap water doesn’t hold the bubbles well.
✔️ Step 1: Fill the bottle, chill it for a few hours before using.
✔️ Step 2: Attach the bottle to the SodaStream and press the button to carbonate. The manual suggests three pumps for light fizz, five for extra fizz – but we found four works best.
✔️ Step 3: Let the bubbles settle for 20-30 seconds before removing the bottle. This helps keep the fizz from escaping.
✔️ Step 4: Add your flavour syrup – we tested Pepsi Max & Diet Tonic Water.

The Taste Test – How Does It Compare?

✔️ Fizz level: Looks great – nice and bubbly!
✔️ Taste: It’s not quite like real Pepsi Max. The carbonation process and tap water change the taste slightly.
✔️ Tonic water: Actually very good! If you drink gin & tonics, this could save you money.
✔️ Kids love it! It’s a fun way to make drinks at home.

Cost Breakdown – Is It Actually Cheaper?

✔️ SodaStream Pepsi Max Syrup: £5 per bottle (makes 9L). This works out to 55p per liter.
✔️ CO2 Cartridge: Lasts 60L, costing £13 to replace, meaning 21p per liter.
✔️ Total cost per liter: 76p (£1.52 for 2L) – cheaper than Pepsi Max in stores but pricier than supermarket own-brand cola.
✔️ Environmental benefit: Reduces plastic waste by replacing up to 10 bottles per cartridge.

Gas Cartridge Replacement Costs

✔️ First cartridge is included with the machine.
✔️ A replacement costs £23, but if you return the empty one, you only pay £13.
✔️ One cartridge makes 60L of soda.

Final Verdict – Is It Worth It?

✔️ Startup cost: The full setup (machine, flavors, extra bottles) cost us over £140.
✔️ Long-term savings: The machine pays for itself over time, especially if you drink a lot of soda.
