Metrom's history began 20 years ago with an idea. Dr Michael Schwaar invented a so-called pentapod milling machine. A completely new machine tool that is able to move the spindle and thus the tool 5-axis in space.
This invention has now been passed on to his daughter Susanne Witt. A courageous and highly competent woman who has taken this machine to the next level with the help of a fantastic team of engineers, or rather a "family" of engineers: The hybrid 5-axis machine.
We are now able not only to mill but also to manufacture additively. It is possible to switch automatically between the tools.
