To-ji Temple [Kyo-gokoku-ji]

On the first Sunday of every month, the Garaguda Market (5:00–16:00) takes place, and on the 21st of every month, the Kobo-ichi Market (8:30–17:30) is held.

What’s the difference between the two?
• The first Sunday market is smaller in scale. Since stall rental fees are low, the prices are cheaper, making it easier to find hidden gems.
• The Kobo-ichi Market, held on the 21st, is one of Kyoto’s two major monthly flea markets. It is larger, with more stalls and a wider variety of goods.

Access:
• Bus No. 71, 78, 19 (from Kyoto Station) → get off at To-ji Higashimon-mae (East Gate).
• Bus No. 16 (from Kyoto Station) → get off at To-ji Nishimon-mae (West Gate).
• Bus No. 208 (from Kyoto Station) → get off at To-ji Minamimon-mae (South Gate).

To-ji is actually not far from Kyoto Station. By bicycle, it takes less than 15 minutes from Kyoto Station to To-ji. There is a free bicycle parking lot at the North Gate, and bicycles can also be parked under the big tree at the East Gate entrance.

弘法市是京都每月兩大集市之一，比較盛大，貨品更多更全，攤位較多。

16號公車（京都車站前） → 16號公車（東寺西門前）
208號公車（京都車站前） → 208號公車（東寺南門前）
東寺距離京都車站其實不遠，騎腳踏車的話，從京都車站出發到東寺大約 15 分鐘內必可到達，東寺的北門可以有免費駐車場（腳踏車），東門進門大樹下面也可以停腳踏車。
