Concord is popular with commuters as it is just 30 minutes to San Francisco by freeway or on BART, the area's rail system. It's even home to Buchanan Field, Concord’s own airport offering commuter flights to Southern California!

The heart of Concord’s downtown is Todos Santos Plaza. The plaza is a large green space that doubles as a venue for various activities and performances, ranging from food and wine festivals and concerts to holiday celebrations. It is surrounded by shops, and restaurants including a Farmers Market year-round.

Concord offers multiple options for entertainment. Some of our favorites are Six Flags Hurricane Harbor water park, live concerts at the Concord Pavilion, and watching a movie at the Veranda or Brendan theaters. For golfers, there are two options: Buchanan Fields or Diablo Creek.

Concord is home to the Sun Valley Mall, an indoor mall with over 160 stores and restaurants. Another popular spot is the newly reimagined Verdana with open-air shopping, dining, Dave & Busters, and a luxury movie theater.

Concord has an extensive park system that boasts playgrounds, sports fields, picnic areas, swimming pools, and tennis & pickleball courts. There are also miles of scenic hiking trails in the Lime Ridge Open Space, the Contra Costa Canal trail, and the Iron Horse Trail.

Concord is part of the Mount Diablo Public School district which has over 50 school sites in the county. There are multiple private school options including Carondelet and De La Salle High School. Cal State East Bay University has a Concord Campus offering a variety of programs and degrees.
