I changed the order of some events, but the concept of the necklace and Diaval’s wings are used with the author’s permission.

PLOT:
Maleficent gives Diaval a magic necklace that allows him to shapeshift by will. After he repaid his life debt she is sure to have kept him in her service for too long. Even though it hurts, she sends him away to be happy, convinced that he is unhappy as her servant.
Diaval is hurt that he is sent away. His happiness IS being with Maleficent. Angry and sad he makes a dramatic exit by changing into a dragon in front of Maleficent and flies off.
For two years he roams the world as a dragon and as a human, as well as his original raven self.
Maleficent finally realizes how much she misses him and how much she asked of him over 16 years. He was always there when she summoned him, even though he complained he stayed a loyal servant.
Diaval likes travelling, but a look at the necklace reminds him of his former mistress. He feels the pull of his old life and returns.
Back at the Moors Diaval lands in his raven body and Maleficent recognizes him instantly. At first, she acts cool. “So, you’ve decided to come back.” Diaval greets her excitedly and leads her to the Standing Stones at the heart of the Moors, where magic is stronger.
At sunrise Diaval steps behind a stone and Maleficent sees the golden light of her magic intensified by the stones.
As the light fades Maleficent cannot believe her eyes. At first she thinks Diaval is a fairy, which should be impossible. But then she takes a closer look. Diaval is still in his human form, but he has raven wings, so they can fly AND talk together. Nervously he lets her take a look and then flies off. The fairy looks after him in wonder before following.
They land on a cliff by a lake and Diaval jumps off the cliff in his human skin. Maleficent jumps in fright, shortly before he spreads his wings and races forward in a challenge. They chase each other through the Moors (the shadow on the water is an edit by me.) and up to the clouds, where Maleficent enjoys the sun and Diaval smiles fondly, happy to see the fairy free again and being able to share the sensation of sun on his face.
After landing Maleficent tells the story of the necklace, reminiscing about Diaval’s good and bad characteristics, his raven past she freed him from, and their future, side by side. Finally she indirectly confesses her love for him. At sunset they meet on the hill and kiss for the first time.

the kiss scene was SO HARD to make. Angelina Jolie’s kissing scene had so much hair in her face that would not be in Maleficent’s, so I had to edit it out and put the faces and movements together. It doesn’t look as good as I wanted, but I gave my best.
