Northeast Ohio Weather Impact forecast: Quiet tonight, then more active this week

Описание: Your 6 p.m. Northeast Ohio Weather Impact forecast for Jan. 12, 2025: A little bit of sunshine has been great today! We stay quiet tonight with passing clouds and temperatures in the upper 20s. Increasing clouds Tuesday with highs in the low to mid 40s. A few pm rain showers will be around. Could mean a few slow downs for the pm commute, but nothing too impactful.

A larger system arrives for Wednesday. Highs will happen before sunrise and temperatures fall from the 30s early to 20s by the evening drive. A few scattered rain showers will transition to snow by lunchtime and that will be the primary form of precipitation going forward.

By the evening, temperatures will be below freezing and now will be accumulating. Plan on needing extra time for the evening commute. There will be a Weather Impact Alert for later Wednesday into Thursday as the snow takes over.

Lake-effect snow will take over through the overnight hours and into Thursday. Accumulations will be likely where bands develop, along with some blowing snow. Expect slow travel where the squalls persist into Thursday.
