Love, one of the most complex emotions (and a lifelong pursuit for most of our species), physically resides in an area of the brain that can be studied using advanced imaging techniques available at the University of Chicago's Center for Cognitive Neuroscience, directed by John Cacioppo, the Tiffany and Margaret Blake Distinguished Service Professor of Psychology. Stephanie Cacioppo, Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Psychology, explores the high cognitive function connected to love and desire, hoping to finally answer the question, "why do we fall in love?"
