Описание: The Scottish Islands Peaks is an adventure race held on the west coast of Scotland. The race involves 160 nautical miles of sailing between Oban, Mull, Jura, Arran and the mainland at Troon. The runners complete a short course near Oban to start the race and then ascend Ben More, the Paps and Gotefell covering 60 miles and ascending 11,500 feet. We are all members of Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team in the Lake District, whilst we had some very fast run times our boat was probably the slowest in the race. Neverthless we were absolutely delighted to finish ! A big part of the adventure was delivering the boat from Whitehaven on the Cumbrian coast to Oban for the start of the race.
