Driving out from the city, through winding forest roads, time suddenly slows down the moment I enter this grove of towering bamboo. By day, sunlight filters through the canopy, sprinkling the forest floor with shifting, dappled light that dances in the breeze. The slender stems stand tall like graceful scholars, reaching for the sky and casting elegant reflections upon the river. Sitting by the water, listening to the whisper of bamboo leaves, I'm immersed in the poetic solitude Wang Wei described – all worldly noise fades away here.
As dusk falls and I set up camp, lighting the lantern under a rising moon, the bamboo shadows blend into ink-wash strokes, while fireflies flicker among the trees. In the quiet of the gathering twilight, I met a beautifully mottled calico cat. It paid me a quiet visit, sharing this serenity within the warm glow of my lantern. Amid the play of light and bamboo shadows, through the rising and setting of the sun and moon, I dwelled in the company of this spirited little creature, sharing food and completing this most gentle embrace with nature.
