Wending My Way Along the Wendover Canal - From Source to End

Описание: The Wendover Canal lay forgotten for decades and gradually began to be taken over by nature. Now it's being restored in gradual stages. Some sections are watered, some are dry, some are accessible to narrowboats, and some are accessible only to wildlife. I spent a day walking the full 10 km, starting at the streams that feed into the canal and ending at its junction with the main London-Birmingham canal. Lots to see along the way!

This channel is a record of my explorations, both local and further afield. In my twenties I travelled a great deal, clocking up over 50 countries in Western and Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa. My favourites so far have been the Philippines, Moldova, Pakistan and Lithuania, but I can enjoy myself practically anywhere. If I’m interested in something or somewhere, it takes a lot to stop me from going there. Now that I’m in my 50s and the children are just about grown up, my opportunity to travel has returned with a vengeance! Hopefully I’ll be accompanied by my wife for some trips.

In making videos for this channel I hope to share my excitement about this wonderful world - cultures, people, landscapes, food, museums, history, architecture, different ways of life. There’s so much that nobody can do all of it. Just as the videos of other people have inspired me, I hope my journeys will inspire you, whether you can actually travel the world yourself or just get a taste of it via my videos.
