In the ancient Valley of Good Wine, the silver was weighed,
A warrior’s secret was bought, his heart betrayed.
The same sirens are today sharpening the blade,
While the divine purpose of a man begins to fade.

She had begged for his secret, laced with lies,
But he sought peace under her seductive eyes.
Like the modern man falling for a promised prize,
He surrendered his strength, falling for her lovely lies.

Now blinded and broken, the system led him away,
To grind at the mill in the heat of the day.
But the roots of power are starting to sway,
And he hopes the system's temple crumbles someday.

The system mocked him, the chains pulled tight,
They took his eyes into a permanent night.
Captured by darkness that taught evil was right,
Yet his strength grows in the absence of light.

Blinded and broken, they lead him away,
To grind at the mill in the heat of the day.
But the roots of the power were starting to fray,
He knew the system's temple would crumble someday.

"One more time, Lord," he whispered through pain,
Reaching for the pillars and breaking the chains.
Not for himself, but for those who remain,
To buy them a season of peace is all it would gain.

Blinded and broken, they lead him away,
To grind at the mill in the heat of the day.
But the roots of the power are breaking today,
And the temple of the system will crumble away.

The columns are falling, the silence is deep,
A guardian’s promise he will finally keep.
For a little while longer, the children may sleep,
While the ruins of the system lie piled in a heap.

And the temple of the system was blown away.
