I wasn't aware this game existed until I stumbled upon it on Retroachievements. I tried it on the SNES and thought it was pretty tough so decided to give it a go on the Arcade version with the Arcade stick I got recently to try out. It was actually quite fun and I see where games like Streets of Rage took a lot of inspiration. It is pretty difficult but given endless amounts of Credits it's easy enough to blitz through in an hour or so.

There is a Retroachievement on the mastery badge for completing the game without using a continue which seems almost impossible unless you were to dedicate a massive amount of time and effort to the game but a few hundred folks seem to have it so fair play to them.

There's trouble in Metro City. The members of the Mad Gear Gang have kidnapped the mayor's daughter Jessica and the clock is ticking. The mayor, an ex-street fighter himself, calls in the big guns to help, enlisting Jessica's brawling boyfriend Cody. Now, it is a race against time to scour the city, defeat an army of the Mad Gear Gangs minions, and rescue Jessica before it's too late.
