Homeland Security says deported Brown University professor supported Hezbollah leader

Описание: The federal government is speaking out about a deported Brown University doctor.

Homeland Security said she admitted to going to a funeral for a Hezbollah leader.

The doctor was returning from a trip to Lebanon, when she was detained at Logan International Airport in Boston over the weekend, then deported.

Dr. Rasha Alawieh works as a doctor at Brown Medicine and assistant professor here at Brown University.

She was returning to Providence on a valid H1B visa, which is issued to foreigners with special skills

But federal authorities say supporting terrorists like Hezbollah is grounds for that visa to be denied
