This week, we hop in our converted Ford transit campervan and search for our next van. We will be taking you through different types of vans from short to long-wheelbase, high-top roof and low-roof, four-wheel-drive, and even an RV. It’s a jam-packed episode with lots of van reveals. If you like van tours this is the episode for you - let’s go check out our next van.
The first place we went to was Campervan, Motorhome, and 4WD Hire Melbourne, located at 40-46 Hume Hwy, Somerton, Melbourne, Victoria, 3062. You can purchase or hire vans from this place. Whilst there, we first checked out a Mercedes Benz Sprinter Camper van / Long Wheel Base with a high-roof. This van had a lot of good features including air conditioning, heating, shower toilet, sink, microwave, and a double bed.
From there we visited Avan RV, which was just down the road. They cater for Campers, Poptop, Caravan or Motorhomes, with both new and used RV’s available. Whilst here, we had a look at a VW long-wheelbase campervan. This was very similar to the Mercedes sprinter campervan. Then for a little bit of fun and to see how the other half live we did a tour of an Avan Ovation M4 motorhome. This motor home had many storage options with loads so extras. It blew us away as it was much bigger than our converted Ford transit campervan. The motorhome was definitely not for us but worth the tour and walk-through. Then we checked out a short-roof Ford transit campervan that looked like someone had done the alterations themselves with IKEA furniture. It was definitely built for off-road. That one wasn't 'our cup-of-tea, but definitely worth a look at.
Our third stop was at the award-winning motorhome dealership, Robert's RV World. We checked out The Avida Escape campervan, being one of the most unique campervans on the market being able to sleep four. At the touch of a button, the large electric bed drops down from the ceiling. With a lounge in the rear that acts as two single beds and an electric roll-down double bed, the Escape campervan is one of the few 4 berth camper vans on Australian and New Zealand roads. We give you the full tour of the Avida Escape campervan. Vanlife will never look the same after seeing this van. I love the fridge and also the color of the van. Now we’ve done a few different van tours and even a sneak look at an RV we definitely think will stick with a van similar to ours. To end the video we talk about the features we'd like to keep in our next van.
Comment in the description and tell us if we should keep our converted Ford transit campervan or buy a new one? Love to know what you guys think.
Stay tuned next weekend where we head out free camping for two nights in our converted Ford transit campervan. As per usual, we decided we will going to travel the night before, leaving Melbourne and heading up towards Wangaratta.
Make sure you check out all our older episodes, too.
