Thoughts:
It's kinda neat visually although nothing special, the angles do make it somewhat distinctive at least. It's comfortable enough, no real complaints there. I don't really like the feeling on the anno though, it's kinda chalky, and due to the mount the assembly can kinda rattle or move around sometimes in the case. I think night sakura is fine pairing wise, it would go with a lot, but JTK was kept for a reason.
I feel like the final result of this board is less interesting than the concept itself, this can be an incredibly flexy and sometimes strangely bouncy board, but imo that's just not really something I can personally find myself using all that often aside for the novelty, so I've got it built with a middleground being a FR4 plate and using only the left and right leafsprings. I wasn't really as impressed with my traditional switch choice, so I've kept to long poles, and honestly the blue velvet switches I got the board with ended up being a nice balance of fun and cleaner sound without feeling overly stunted or boring. I had also tried other caps like GMK and DCS and such and just found that JTK helped to mask some of the pinginess of the case and keep it clean. I kinda think that the case being as pingy and thuddy as it is sort of degrades the experience for me a bit, and would require a lot of work in terms of internal dampening and isolation to remove, so I just kinda tried to get it as good as I could without resorting to foams/pours/forcebreaking/footers/etc and try not to think about it lol. It's at least not as thin as I was expecting it to be initially at least. It's not what I really look for in a board personally, but it's at least partially unique and I can see with the right build this being a high value pickup for someone.
Tried the traditional blacks and browns and such, didn't do it for me, neither did plateless, I only had a FR4 plate which I normally really don't like on other boards, so maybe that was holding it back. Also hotswap so there's that lol. It's fine as is for how much I care to use it.
Build:
Wilba.Tech Salvation - Business Gray
FR4 Tray Leafspring Mount (only left and right mounts)
L+F Dangkeebs Blue Velvet (TX films)
TX AP Rev 4
1.6mm FR4 Hotswap
JTK Night Sakura
Equipment:
Josephson C716 / Neumann U87i (Thiersch Reskin) → Crane Song Flamingo.1 → CS Interstellar (and Nikon D5500 cam mic)
C716 head level, from seating position, on axis centered alphas, cardioid pattern, decoupled. U87i head level, directly above board, on axis, cardioid, decoupled.
Max -.1db peak (excluding camera), no further processing.
C716 is accurate and honest to typing in person to my ear, extremely sensitive though. U87i is also honest but slight sweetness and grandness with slight grit, reskin and mods add some clarity and slight treble boost at cost of smoothness, direct overhead for different perspective and how most people record their boards (not as realistic). Crappy cam mic cause why not.
Bad IKEA slab into acoustic membrane on concrete (slightly hollow and thinner sounding, weighted down with heavy equipment, isolated from floor)
Aiglatson Studio Synchronize Jacquard (thicker and slightly stiffer, partially isolates from desk)
