Crazy MTB tech trail hiding in Connecticut: Millers Pond Red Loop - Just Ride Ep. 9

Описание: It's the most technical trail I'd ever ridden, and I loved every min! If you're looking for the best mountain bike trails in Connecticut, and you are into slow speed tech, drops, big rock slabs and skinnies, I would highly recommend this place!

At only 9 miles and 1400 ft you might be quick to dismiss this ride on paper, but the numbers don’t tell the full story. The entire loop is labeled black diamond and it is 100% accurate. Yes, there are some go arounds but you can’t avoid the rocks. For this reason I would not attempt this loop unless you are an skilled intermediate or advanced level rider.

And while there are no major climbs, there are a ton of little punchy ups and downs that prove to be quite challenging when you litter them with rock gardens. In addition to rocks there are plenty of skinnies cleverly placed throughout the park ranging in all sizes and difficulty levels. Major props to the trail builders for creating such a technical masterpiece.

I would park at the Foot Hills Rd lot and hit the “Red Loop” going clockwise. The trailhead is located about 100ft from the lot on the left down a gravel path. The only tricky turn was at .3 miles, you want to look for a hard right turn. If you look at my Strava activity below you will see where we missed this turn and ended up at Wiese Albert Rd. Outside of that intersection the rest of the loop is extremely easy to follow and is marked with red blazes everywhere.
