The time has finally come, Platinum, the beloved Bayonetta developer, has released it's own shoot em' up (shmup) Sol Cresta. A very interesting game that is definetly a departure for the studio and a very rare example of a larger studio making a shmup in the year 2022. At this point even CAVE barely makes shmups if you even count their mobile games. So the question is if this new release and IP is a faithful and solid entry into the genre by a well-respected Platinum, or is it a hot mess full of great ideas that lack polish and a deeper understanding of the genre?
