STORYLINE:

A village close to the nightclub district in Bali bombed earlier this month symbolically buried four coffins on Tuesday, representing four members of their village killed in the attack.

The burial was symbolic because the relatives still do not have the bodies of their loved ones.

Few of those killed in the attack have been identified.

Around 500 people attended the ceremony. With still no actual bodies to bury in Kapaun, relatives wrapped up flowers, mementoes and sandlewood in sheets.

They cleansed the bundles with water and then, in a dignified ceremony, buried the coffins.

The attack on Kuta took the lives of more than 180 people. Seven came from Kapaun village, near to Kuta. All of those killed - four Hindus and three muslims - were taxi drivers.

The tourism industry is important to Kapaun and the villagers explain that it is not only their friends and relatives they have lost.

Many have also lost their livelihoods as tourists have fled the island.
