This is a recording of a Zoom lecture that I was invited to give to the Glass Society on 9 February 2021. The audience at which it was aimed included some paperweight collectors and makers, but also many people who did not know much about the history of glass paperweights. I hope the talk is factually correct, but the idea that there were 3 main phases in the history of glass paperweights is my interpretation of what happened, rather than 'accepted wisdom'.
The talk was not scripted or rehearsed - my Powerpoint slides were my primary notes: that may be apparent at times!
