Why is Lo-Fi Music so popular? (Lo-Fi Documentary)

Описание: Lo-Fi, or Low Fidelity music, is a genre that has been growing in popularity over the past few years. The concept is simple. Take an old instrumental and voice sample from the 70s or 60s, get a modern hip-hop or trap drumbeat, destroy the production quality in post, and...combine the two. By using that simple formula, the most popular Lo-Fi artists have been attracting millions upon millions of views.

So, the question is, in a world where the technological side of production is at it's peak and the ability to create professional-sounding music is readily available to pretty much anyone with a laptop, why is Lo-Fi so popular?

This is a documentary that I made for college which I decided to upload here. Considering that I upload a lot of Lo-Fi music on this channel, I felt it would suit it.
