On Thursday 17th August 2023, we visited Potter's Lane in Wednesbury to film West Midlands Metro CAF Urbos 3, 26, on the move from the depot to storage in Worksop making room for work to be carried out at Wednesbury depot for more storage and for a new connection to the Black Country Extension which is currently being constructed.
Heavy transport moving specialists, Allley's, were in charge of the move and we filmed the move from leaving the depot to reaching the main road in readiness for its onward move to the storage facility.
The tram is drawn out of the depot confines onto Potter's Lane and is then reversed down to Bridge Street roundabout before moving forward towards Wednesbury bus station to reach the link road to major roads to reach Worksop.
You will see a couple of "keep left" road signs totally annihilated in the move but it shows the skill required to move such large transport items.
