This gorgeous work was composed by Maurice Ravel in 1899 while he was studying composition with Gabriel Faure at the Conservatoire de Paris. His intention was to compose a pavane that a little princess might have danced at the Spanish Courts (of 16th and 17th centuries.) Janet took the two main themes and arranged for lever harp.
