Filmed at Cain's Family Amusements, Sheerness on October 24th 2018.
This beautiful horse ride was made by Edwin Hall & Co. of Streatham from 1960 to the early 1970s. Its design was simplified over the years; the earliest versions had real leather tack decorated with stunning "gems" while later versions had fibreglass saddles and a metal rail for reins. The tail was also altered over the years, with some horses made with tails that hung down between their back legs and others having their tails flying out behind them. I would imagine that this particular model dates from the early 60s due to the mix of fibreglass saddle, ornate saddle blanket and harness and "real" reins. While he has obviously been repainted, you can still spot the outline of his original name "Silver" painted on his base if you look carefully.
