Haiku and bat caves
Before the sunrise,
confessionals tell no lies.
Nocturnal creatures
….and the moon seem the only ones awake.
You’re all under one celestial canopy
with form and function.
The stares outside the window come with sips of truth and contemplations
….of all details compartmentalized of old calendars.
Some you remember with smiles
others with Jesus holding your hand.
Why would one care when tomorrow
has got fine little details of its own
………there for the grabbing?
Suppose learning how to sail isn’t magic.
Vastness is not a journey into oblivion.
Steadfastness on the steering wheel gets you to the other side
and you focus only on what’s important.
Atonement puzzles fit better with clarity.
Haiku, you realize takes deeper thought than just putting 17 syllables together.
They have to be broken into 3 lines, you know.
Deep prayers need not be measured by the clock.
This isn’t bumper sticker solutions.
Morsels of truth isn’t just seeing a bat flying around.
The whole truth is the combustion startle
with you walking in their cave.
How do you bring them all back?
Simple haiku.
They are all awake
What in the world can I do?
Get out, let them dream.
After the sun is up,
the rest is trial and error.
And correction when you step back far enough
To take note that big picture is often broken up
and re-pieced together again
in a different order.
It is by design.
