Scouts launch food drive, collecting donations door to door in Charlotte area February 7

For 34 years, WCNC Charlotte has partnered with Scouts for Scouting for Food. Scouts go door to door collecting food to help families in need in the Charlotte area. In fact, it’s often called the super bowl of food drives for local non-profits.
Scouts distribute door tags in Mecklenburg, York, Lancaster, Anson, Union, Cabarrus, Rowan and Stanly counties. Scouts will be dropping off door tags Saturday, January 31, 2026. If you get one, they’ll be back the following Saturday, February 7, to pick up your donation. All you have to do is leave your items in a bag on your doorstep by 9 a.m.
