Ingredients
• 1, (10 lbs.) spiral sliced bone-in ham, (I used the hickory smoked flavored ham.)
• ¾ cup of honey
• 1 cup of light brown sugar (packed)
• ½ cup of pineapple juice (divided in half)
• 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
• ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
• ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
• ¼ teaspoon ground allspice
• ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
• ½ teaspoon garlic powder
• ½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 275°F (135°C).
2. Prepare the ham: Remove any packaging materials and discard the plastic disk covering the bone, if present. Place the ham cut side down in a large baking dish/roasting pan. Pour ¼ cup of pineapple juice in the baking dish/roasting pan, save the remaining half for the glaze.
3. Cover and bake: Loosely cover the ham with foil. Bake for approximately 2 hours for a 10 lb. ham, or until heated through. (Check package instructions for specifics.)
4. Make the glaze: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add honey, brown sugar, the remaining ¼ cup of pineapple juice, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, ground allspice, salt, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Stir until everything is combined and the sugar is dissolved. On medium/low heat, simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.
5. Glaze the ham: After the ham has heated for about 2 hours, remove it from the oven. Place the cooked ham on a baking rack (optional). Brush half of the glaze generously over the ham, making sure to get between the slices.
6. Finish baking: Return the ham to the oven, uncovered at 400°F (205°C). Bake for another 10 – 15 minutes, basting occasionally with the remaining glaze, until the ham is caramelized and golden.
7. Rest and serve: Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 10 – 15 minutes before carving. Serve warm and enjoy!
