With a new year brings new possibilities, and this includes with volcanoes. As a result, you might be wondering which volcanoes around the planet could erupt this year (2026). In today's video, I will discuss 5 volcanoes which in the opinion of a volcanologist (GeologyHub) have the potential to erupt in the next 12 months. Two of these volcanoes involve volcanic islands, specifically the volcanoes known as Krakatau and Barren Island.
