Eddie Gomez & Jeremy Steig - Live in Germany 1979(Full Concert)

Описание: Here's a fantastic sounding live recording of two of the foremost virtuosos on their respective instruments, upright bassist Eddie Gomez and flutist Jeremy Steig. Unfortunately I don't know the city, venue or date of this concert, but CMP which produced their studio albums is a German label. Besides, Gomez says "Danke" several times to the audience so the country is most likely Germany. The year is probably 1979 since the newest album some of the tunes performed are from "Music For Flute And Double Bass" which was released that year. Eddie Gomez first became a household name through his tenure with legendary pianist Bill Evans, while Steig spent his career in relative obscurity despite being one of the true flute masters and highly respected among his peers. In addition to several solo albums he appeared on Evans' 1969 album "What's New". I assume that's when the connection with Gomez commenced. Sadly Steig passed away in 2016 from cancer. The material performed during this adventurous set of music are mostly originals with the exception of "Nardis" and "Flute Bass Blues". All of the nature photographs in the video slideshow are taken by me while I was walking alongside a river in the town where I live. I selected them as I feel they fit the mood of the music.
