Air Handling Unit (AHU) cleaning

Описание: ✅𝗩𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲: We received an inquiry from one of our 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑒𝑟𝑐𝑖𝑎𝑙 𝑐𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠 with multiple venues all over Hong Kong. The restaurant of their 11,000 square foot multi-purpose venue has very little air flow, guests were complaining that it was 𝗵𝗼𝘁, and it was an uncomfortable working environment for the personnel too.

✅𝗦𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: The 𝑨𝒊𝒓 𝑯𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒕 (𝑨𝑯𝑼) was severely underperforming – both in regards to air flow and air temperature. The venue has a Chilled Water System – so the Building Management is only responsible for the flow of chilled water to the client’s system, and not responsible for repairs/maintenance of the clients internal HVAC systems. Our client had been informed by Building Management as well as by another HVAC Company (that had been contacted by Building Management) that 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒏 𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝑯𝑼 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒅.
Our client contacted us as they were seeking a third opinion.

🌟𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻:  We scheduled a comprehensive inspection of the entire HVAC system and within a few minutes we identified why the AHU for the restaurant was underperforming so severely – 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑖𝑙𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑜𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑐𝑜𝑖𝑙𝑠 𝑤𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑎𝑏𝑠𝑜𝑙𝑢𝑡𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑓𝑖𝑙𝑡ℎ𝑦 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑎𝑖𝑟𝑓𝑙𝑜𝑤 ℎ𝑎𝑑 𝑏𝑒𝑒𝑛 𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑟𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑏𝑦 𝒎𝒐𝒍𝒅, 𝒐𝒊𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒊𝒍. There was nothing whatsoever wrong with the fan motor – it was simply struggling owing to restricted airflow. Further inspection of the other 2 AHU’s at the venue, as well as their 28 Fan Coil Units, revealed that 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒎 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒅𝒖𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒂 𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈. Thankfully the client managed to avoid an unnecessary and very costly replacement💸💰 of the fan motor for the AHU!

🔴It’s worth noting that AC systems with 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝/𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝟑𝟎% 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐚 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 – so regular maintenance and deep cleaning of your HVAC systems ultimately pays for itself.
