Students in the VSTOL Aerodynamics course (MAE 452/589) at North Carolina State University participated in a hands-on helicopter demonstration as part of their fall 2025 coursework.
The field trip was hosted by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol Aviation Unit and provided students with an up-close look at helicopter flight controls, operational procedures and real-world applications of vertical takeoff and landing aerodynamics. The experience connected classroom theory with applied aviation practice.
