📅 Programme & Key Events (9–11 January 2026)
9 January 2026 — Opening Day
The 65th Annual Conference began at Thengphakhri Fwthar, Borlaugaon near Bijni (Chirang district) with the official inauguration ceremony and opening of the conference grounds.
Welcome rituals included opening the memorial entrance gates (Dr. Moneswar Brahma Memorial Gate) and official delegate/volunteer camps.
Day featured early literature sessions and cultural discussions, including workshops like “From Dreams to Destination — How to Succeed in Competitive Exams.”
Evening brought the first delegate meeting and cultural programme, with performances from Bodo literary and artistic groups.
📅 10 January 2026 — Second Day
The day started with the ceremonial hoisting of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha flag by President Dr. Surath Narzary.
Leaders and vice-presidents offered tributes to martyrs and literary personalities in solemn remembrance ceremonies.
The delegate meeting (Representative Assembly) on this day was important, including the election process for key Sabha posts for the next term.
Several sessions featured discussions on language development, education, and cultural preservation — reflecting the Sabha’s role in advocating for Bodo identity.
A book release ceremony showcased about 90 new books by contemporary Bodo authors, highlighting the growing literary output.
Felicitation and awards were given in multiple categories to honour contributors to Bodo literature and culture — including:

📅 11 January 2026 — Final / Open Session
The conference concluded with a grand cultural procession featuring Bodo cultural troupes, dances, and performances by other regional communities, attracting large crowds.
Open session attendance included ministers, Assam legislative figures, and prominent cultural leaders, underscoring the event’s significance.
Although there was an incident of disruption late at night during sessions, the overall event ended on a positive and celebratory note, highlighting the Sabha’s enduring cultural role.
📚 Highlights of the Conference
⭐ Cultural Showcase & Exhibitions: Over 500 stalls featuring Bodo crafts, literature, exhibitions, traditional food, and indigenous knowledge displays drew huge crowds.
📖 International & Inter-regional Participation: Delegates from Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, other Northeastern states, and West Bengal were present, adding an international touch.
📚 Book Fair & Releases: Display and sale of books promoted Bodo literature, with book exhibitions and author interactions.
🏆 Awards & Felicitations: Multiple literary and cultural awards were conferred to authors, scholars, and community contributors, celebrating excellence in Bodo arts.
