Bududa NRM Leaders Accuse District Officials of Disbursing Less Mobilisation Funds
Leaders of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Bududa District have accused district party officials of withholding part of the parish mobilisation funds released by the NRM Secretariat.
The leaders, drawn from several sub-counties, allege that the NRM District Executive Committee failed to fully disburse the Shs 630,000 allocated to each village to facilitate grassroots mobilisation for the party. They claim that mobilisers are instead receiving between Shs 200,000 and Shs 300,000, an amount they say is far below what was officially approved.
“This money was intended to support mobilisation activities at the grassroots, but the amount being released is insufficient to carry out effective party work,” said one NRM leader.
The leaders warned that the alleged under-disbursement could adversely affect mobilisation efforts ahead of the elections, potentially impacting President Yoweri Museveni’s vote and the overall performance of the NRM in the district.
They have since appealed to the NRM Secretariat to intervene and ensure transparency and accountability in the management and distribution of mobilisation funds.
