Not all BMW M3s are made equal... This M3 GTR was specially equipped for the American Le Mans Series uprated 4.0-litre, 500bhp V8 engine to replace the familiar straight-six. It scored a one-two victory in only its third appearance and accrued a total of seven consecutive class wins, which saw BMW win the GT class constructors trophy and lead-driver Jörg Müller win the drivers' title! Due to complaints from Porsche on the nature of its homologation, it ran in ALMS only in 2001, but found victory at then Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2004 and 2005!
