We took Lowen's Nina Saeidi and Shem Lucas for a MetalWalk, and chatted about Shem’s first words to Nina, the band’s mixing of modernity and history to create something unique, and their variety of inspirations – from Middle Eastern influences to the desire to showcase that Heavy Metal is a broad church that everyone is welcome in.
Lowen is a London-based Prog band and have been blending elements of Progressive Doom and Death Metal with Middle Eastern history, heritage and politics since 2017.

Introducing MetalWalk. Where navigating interview questions becomes the least of a band’s worries as there are sewage trucks, tractors and uneven floor ramps to deal with.
You will see some great displays of agility, a lot of laughing, and plenty of chaos – both on the road and with our equipment.
