We actually like to consider it a face and neck lift because that's really what we're doing. We are rejuvenating the face and the neck in combination. So what I perform is a high SMAS comprehensive lower face and neck lift, which accomplishes tightening loose facial and neck skin, tightening loose facial and neck muscles, lifting the jowls, and removing fatty deposits in the neck, along with tightening the neck muscles called the platysmaplasty.

In our practice, we do not use any bandages or painful mummy wraps, compression garments around the face and neck. We simply place two drains underneath the skin and the neck which significantly decreases the bruising in the skin from the surgical procedure. It's still important to anticipate two weeks of visible bruising and swelling after a lower face-neck lift procedure.
