In 2015 it was decided to build a low impact, sustainable straw bale education centre at Perivale Woods nature reserve, in Ealing, UK.
Built entirely by volunteers they decided to further enhance it's environmental credentials by fitting a roof of cedar shingles, a roofing tile with natural preservative
This video shows the shingles being prepared and then fitted to the roof
Sadly Len, the guy shaping the shingles, is no longer with us, and so I dedicate this video in memory of him.
