Instagram new vertical feed is GOOD for artists (2025)

As we all know by now, Instagram is going to prioritize videos in 2022 and in the near future, like Tiktok didn't exist already. Let's be honest, this is not ideal for artists, especially if you don't want to deep dive into videos and Reels.
However Instagram promised that they won't completely disregard images on their platform and this is where it becomes relevant for artist: these days they are testing a new vertical feed for their homepage (in 9x16 format) to create a more immersive experience in the app - like in the Reels feed.

Use the new instagram feed to your advantage: artists can use this new feed to their advantage and begin to create a more immersive experience for their viewers. You'll be able to post single vertical character poses and more immersive vertical illustrations. You'll also be able to change the color of the background of your drawings, giving you full control of your followers perception.
