Soi Dog Foundation in coordination with local volunteers and help from the Thai Army removed 200+ dogs stranded on what was called "Dogs' Island" a temporary refugee created for the dogs saved from the floods.
There were dog bites and a couple of injuries but mostly it went well. Some dogs put up a real fight but once in the cages seem to settle down.
The mission started 8:00am local time and had the first load of dogs off the island about 11:30am. The last load left just as it was going dark. Soi Dog Founders Gill and John Dalley were present at all times coordinating the mission.
The rescue operation finished loading the last of the dogs about 7:30pm. The Thai army provided assistance giving the rescuers a ride back into Bangkok as the trucks and boats were full of dogs.
The dogs were going to Char Am shelter, about 2 hours away. All of them arrived safely.
