Описание: We travelled to The Great Scottish Tapestry in Galashiels, where the history of Scotland is told across 160 panels of incredible Scottish art. We were delighted to chat with Sandy Maxwell-Forbes, the Centre Director, who told us about how this grand project brought together local communities, created life-long friendships and included a personal touch in every stitch. Countless hours of work represent the passion of the Scottish people, many of whom were stitching these historical panels in their free time, under leading stitcher Dorie Wilkie and visionary Alexander McCall Smith.
The Tapestry visitor centre takes inspiration from its home of the bonnie Borders landscape, and there are even stories hidden within the panels for those who visit the centre.
