Ushering in a great variety of high-power laser applications, Patel developed the CO2 laser at AT&T Bell Labs in the 1960s. One of the world’s most versatile, efficient and widely used lasers, it has enabled many advances in scientific, medical, industrial, environmental and communications fields.
