Hi friends 👋
In this vlog, we explore Prabhala Theertham, a centuries-old traditional festival celebrated in the Konaseema region of Andhra Pradesh during Kanuma — the third day of the Sankranti festival. 🌾🌟
Prabhala Theertham, also known as Jaggannathota Prabhala Theertham, is a unique cultural and spiritual event where devotees from many villages bring tall, decorated Prabhalu (symbols of Lord Shiva’s 11 forms, the Ekadasa Rudras), and carry them with devotion through paddy fields, canals, and streams to the sacred spot at Jaggannathota.
This tradition — more than 400 years old — brings thousands of people together in a vibrant celebration of faith, community, and culture. The event has recently been declared a State festival by the Andhra Pradesh government, highlighting its cultural importance.
📍 Location:
Jaggannathota, Mosalapalli Village, Ambajipeta Mandal, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema District, AP 🇮🇳
