PRESS CONFERENCE - Muslim Organizations Coast to Coast Rejecting Bill C-9 (Combatting Hate Act)

Описание: A coalition of national Muslim organizations is convening a national press conference today to raise urgent concerns about Bill C-9 and the government’s move to fast-track the legislation while limiting parliamentary debate.

The press conference will bring together major Muslim organizations from coast to coast, who will outline the implications of the bill for faith communities, particularly the proposed removal of the “good-faith” religious-text defence.

Participating organizations include the Canadian Muslim Public Affairs Council, Muslim Association of Canada, Canadian Council of Imams, Ummah Society, Islamic Circle of North America, BC Muslim Association , Canadian Muslim Healthcare Network, the Imams Council of Quebec, Bel Agir, Hikma, the Muslim Council of Calgary, and the United Muslim Organizations of Ottawa–Gatineau.
